Senior Celebration - an LBJ/LASA Tradition
Class of 2008

An all-night, drug- and alcohol-free celebration on the night of graduation.

The 2008 LBJ/LASA Senior Celebration will be held the evening of graduation (June 7th) at 300 Austin. This event, sponsored by the LBJ/LASA PTSA, is planned by parents and students and provides all seniors their last celebration with their fellow students.

Our students’ safe celebration of their achievements on graduation night is of real concern to parents, teachers, and administrators. Senior Celebration is an alcohol and drug-free event where students can participate in a supervised, overnight party with good food and good friends.

Parents and students are working hard to raise the funds to allow the event to be affordable for all students. (For example, last year the event ticket was $10.00.) Support of parents and businesses allow us to provide this evening of celebration for our seniors.

The cost per student is around $75 and we have raised part of what we need through Passbook sales, selling concessions at UT games and business and parent donations. We are trying to raise the remainder of what we need to make this affordable for every graduating senior. Donations made out to “LBJ/LASA PTSA Senior Celebration” should be mailed to: Clare Stanfield, 2308 Sheri Oak Lane, Austin, TX 78748 (Senior Celebration Treasurer). Donations to this event are tax deductible.
